Sunga Mkwezalamba is a Principal at SVP.  Ethnically, Sunga is from Malawi, Africa. Sunga has a focus and interest in scaling African startups.

Sunga began his career specializing in policy at the African Union.  Along the way, he created various partnerships with educational institutions in Africa for access to affordable education.  His career has involved access to various African investment markets, including project finance, blockchain and related technology.  While at the University of Illinois where Sunga was a member of the football team, he also managed Project Africa South, a non-profit which funded women entrepreneurs in Africa.

As an entrepreneur, Sunga has successfully founded and operated startups in the legal services, apparel, food, and beverage industries.  

Sunga sits on the board of many impact organizations, including the Learning Centre in Malawi, Africa, and the Black Men Lawyers Association of Greater Chicago.

Sunga enjoys exercise and painting.
